NURSERY COOK

Main Role : As a cook you will work in consultation with the Nursery Manager and Centre Manager, be responsible for the preparation of weekly menu’s, catering for all children, staff and guest, taking account of any special dietary requirements and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen.

We are looking for full time staff for our all year round nursery

The staff at Buckingham Montessori School are guides who help children connect with the environment through modeling, suggestion, redirection groups, points of consciousness and points of interest. At our Montessori school we provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children to reach their full potential inline with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Montessori philosophies, values and policies.

Overall purpose of Job:
The staff will report to and work with the other team members and be responsible for assisting the lead teacher with the general supervision and management of the class. The guide teacher and bank staff will prepare and maintain the Montessori environment as directed by the lead teacher and senior staff.

Key areas:
1. Observation and working directly with children
2. Teamwork and using own initiative
3. Preparing the environment and maintaining a clean and clear space for learning.

Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Support with children’s arrival.
2. To help children to make suitable developmental choices of activity, based on observations and communication with Lead Guide.
3. To protect those children who are engaged with the environment ensuring they can work free from disturbance and interruption
4. To support the children to treat each other and the environment with respect, ensuring firstly that no harm is done.
5. To carry out planned learning activities based on each individual child’s age and stage of development
6. To complete all necessary paperwork relevant to your role
7. To follow all company policies and procedures
8. To take an active role in maintaining health and safety standards throughout the setting
